Wow, it's finally starting to feel like it will really happen. My folks have been asking when are we going on another family adventure for a while now but there were always schedule conflicts, long discussions on where to go without consensus, etc., but seeing as it is my folks 60th wedding anniversary this September, we all finally agreed that we would do a trip around the world.
Now, just where to go? and in what direction? Again, after many more discussions and a couple calls to a travel agent, we agreed and bought tickets. Now, less than two weeks away from departure, it's feeling real and frankly I'm a little anxious. Here's the scoop - we depart the West Coast of the US for Honolulu where we will all meet up and spend the night. The next day, we depart Honolulu for Osaka for several days stay in Kyoto, Japan. From there we fly to Bangkok, Thailand for a few days. Departing Bangkok, we will fly to Colombo, Sri Lanka, for adventure in the cultural triangle, Kandy, and Galle. We will depart Colombo for Paris, France for the rest of our journey, spending time in the south west of France and elsewhere, this bit, as are several others, is still up in the air. Finally, we'll return to the West Coast from Paris to complete our Round the World tour.
This blog will hopefully chronicle our progress and allow us to keep in touch with family and friends throughout our trek.
